The campaign to Save Our Watermans started in earnest in mid-March where we successfully gathered over 1000+ signatures on line as well as with our paper petitions. The campaign was supported and welcomed by local businesses such as the chemist on Albany Parade and The Black Dog pub who gathered signatures for us.
It has to be stressed that all of this was made possible with the selfless hard work and finances from Adam Shailes and Richard Eason from Red Routemaster.
They then handed it back onto to us to continue to work at re-opening the arts centre. We are eternally grateful to them for all that they have done.
Since the closure of the Centre the Save Our Watermans campaign has transitioned into the Watermans Community Works.
We submitted our Expression of Interest to Hounslow Council in early May for Meanwhile Use of the Centre. The Council are yet to announce when they will be accepting bids from interested parties.

Whilst waiting, Watermans Community Works has been busy creating this website, registering as a Community Interest Company, doing surveys on the high street, gathering a contact list from our supporters and creating leaflets to keep you informed our about our progress towards putting in a fully costed bid for the Centre.
Once we have our bank account set up we will start a campaign to raise money to cover our setting up costs, which is currently coming out of our rather empty pockets. So stay with us and let us work for a successful adventure to keep the arts alive in Brentford.
