Ruby Almeida

Ruby Almeida has lived in Brentford for more than thirty years. She worked in media and education for all of her working life. She has also been actively engaged in the community sector on faith and LGBT issues for twenty years, ranging from third sector local organisations to national, international and a global one. The provision of arts and culture is something that Ruby feels is essential to the well being of the individual as well as the community at large. 

Steve Sargeant

Steve has lived in West London for over 15 years and is proud to call Brentford home. In his working life, Steve has built up a wealth of knowledge and experience across Culture and Theatre sectors, having spent over a decade in Senior positions in Arts organisations up and down the country. Steve is also passionate about inclusivity and works with a national charity on strategies that improve access to The Arts for all.

Pamela Maycross

PamelaMayorcas FITI MScInfSc DipModLangs … born in and now living in Chiswick. In between leaving with her parents, as a 3-year old and returning to Chiswick in 1988, lived in North Holland, Sheffield and Chester. Trained and worked as a technical translator for the Commission of the EU, in Brussels. Enjoys the arts, gardening, theatre, cinema. Has always been actively involved in local affairs.

Wendy Mackenzie

Originally from Perth, Scotland. Graduated with BA Hons in Fine Art from University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Based in Brentford since 2005. Known locally for her landscape paintings of the area and involvement in two Housing Coops and various community groups and organisations. Interests include recycling, nature & environmental issues and live music.

Ian Speed

Ian Speed is an experienced local government accountant with a background in local community activism. He has been a keen enthusiast of both live music and film at the old Waterman’s , and is keen to see them return to Brentford.

Maggie Sutton

  Maggie Sutton has lived in or around Brentford for most of her life and she has been a supporter of the Watermans Arts Centre from when it opened in the 80’s.   Maggie has worked in the social care sector for over 35 years with 15 years in management and including project development.  Maggie is involved in a number of community groups in and around Brentford.   In another life Maggie studied Art and Design and she has always been passionate about the importance of art and culture in our lives.  

Anna Himiona 

(Retired director) Originally from New Zealand and of Māori and Irish ancestry, Anna was fortunate to have grown up surrounded by a thriving cultural and arts scene and as such is acutely aware of the power that arts and culture has in terms of insight, empathy, entertainment, fun, reflection, sharing and healing.  Anna has lived and worked in the area for 20 years and has a background in marketing technology.  As a former member of community group Brentford Voice Anna brings local insight and is both humbled and excited by the breadth of cultural variety and potential that living in Hounslow offers. She now sees it as an opportunity to change towards a hub that is run by locals and offers a broader spectrum of arts and culture for all regardless of age, gender, religious or social background.
